To School
The Children's Assistance Fund implemented the '' TO SCHOOL'' project in 2006. It is running in Sevan, Hrazdan cities and neighboring villages. Every year the project includes up to 100 orphaned and poor children who are in difficult life situations. Without this project and support every year, many children will be on the streets because they will not be able to go to school. They will be left out of general education which contradicts the International Human Rights Documents, especially:
1) Universal Declaration of Human Rights
2) The European Convention on Human and Citizen Rights
3) Convention for the Protection of Children's Rights
4) The RA law about Children's rights
5) The RA law about education and many other laws.
Our project has two objectives:
1) An educational component which supports the rights to education
2) A social component which supports the family in terms of reducing the social problems of the family by providing clothing, shoes, bags, stationery, and the annual fees for books etc.
To School is an annual and continuous project.
During the past 11 years more than 1000 children went to school with our support, and had all of the supplies that they needed. We hope that as a result, fewer children engaged in crime, fewer children were on the streets, and the social challenges in their homes improved.
